Reverand Alfred L. Smith Jr.

 

 

   Pastor At Macedonia Baptist Church of Ansonia Ct. Since July 2011. Reverand Smith provides preaching, teaching, counseling, hospital visititation and a host of other needs to the members of Macedonia Baptist Church.

   Reverand Smith works as a morning newscaster at WYBC FM radio station of Milford Ct. He also works with Families in Crisis in New Haven Ct. His history also includes a caseworker, group facililitator and coordinator for Fathers and Children of Cheshire Ct.. Reverand Smith was also a coordinator of a student support center at Plainville High School where detained students had his help in staying on top of their academic workload .The Reverend also counseled and advised students on new strategies for success in the classroom and in life. In 2006 the Varsity Basketball team went on to win their first championship in 40 years with Reverand Smith as their assistant coach.

   Reverand Smith pastored at the Missionary Baptist Church of New Britian from Jan 1992- 2007. He encouraged and advised the church body to be their best for their Master as their pastor, teacher and counselor. Reverand Smith has held the longest tenur in the churches history. Under his tenure the church purchased a 2 million dollar, 3 building campus facility where they started a community based ministry including a food pantry and soup kitchen.

   Reverand Smith graduatead from Lafayette High School in Buffalo, New York June 1973. He also graduated Advanced Training Center Broadcasting School Towanda, New York with a certificate in Radio and TV Bradcasting with a 3rd class license endorsed by the FCC. Reverand Smith  attended Buffalo State and Medaille College, CCSU.

   Reverand has worked as a broadcaster on many stations across Ct., New York and Niagra Falls. He also has under his belt New York National Black Network News and Sports Anchor for 150 urban formatted station

   Reverand Smith completed 5 of 6 classes at the Hartford Seminary Black Minister Certificate Program. He attended Cambridge College Mass. 93-95. He Entered the Masters Ed Program graduating June 1996 with a Master in Education.
